PS - How to Use My Paper Templates with Clipping Masks

How to use my paper templates that I offer on my Blog. You can use the same technique for pretty much any templates for Photoshop :)

Here is the template used in this tutorial.

To start off just open the template and select the Background layer. If there is no background layer just create one.

Now we are going to fill the background with the colour of your choice. Select the bucket tool and put the preferred colour in foreground.

Now we are going to choose the colour for the flowers. Select the layer "Flowers" and click the icon at the bottom to create a new layer. You may also do this by clicking Layer->New Layer

Now Paint the layer with the colour of your choice using the bucket tool again.

After you have painted the layer just right click on it and select Create Clipping Mask.

This is what it would look like in your layer palette.

Now we are going to choose the colour for the other flowers. We are going to select the layer, then create a new one and fill it just like we did the first time.

And again we are going to create a Clipping mask.

And repeat this for all the layers that need to be coloured and then Merge the result by right clicking on the Background layer and selecting Merge Visible.

You're done :)

  4. Thanks for the tutorial, but I was wondering, is there anyway you could save these in PDF format so they can be saved/printed? I don't know about anyone else, but to print from blogs uses up a lot of paper and ink. Hugs -- xoxo! (terri - hawaii)

  9. Thank you for this tutorial and for all your freebies!

TeeriM, pdf files waste more ink and paper than anything else. copy/paste what you want as a text file or doc file and then print what you want. what could be more easier
